Ahh, the smell of the day before a final review! Today we met up at the studio at the Castellano and worked on plans and sections for a long time. We got pizza delivered as a big group, and it was without a doubt the worst pizza that I have ever had. We got told it was there last so I got a piece with anchovies (I picked them off but that fish smell/taste wouldn’t leave) and a piece with “German sausage” (hot dog). A truly disappointing lunch that went pretty well with the pretty awful day.
After working until the building closed at 8, we went back to the hotel to work. A fun little adventure happened when I walked in: my good friend Joe called me over to try some food, which upon first glance looked like some chicken with peppers and other things. After I had put a piece in my mouth, he informed me that it was cow stomach and I almost vomited right there. The taste wasn’t the issue, but the consistency was a little weird and the thought of it (and the betrayal) made it worse.
Anyway, we got back together so we could work on the model. This was quite an adventure because there was really no space to work, so we ended up just going up to the breakfast area and cutting on newspaper. We ended up getting a pretty good bit done up there: we finished three out of the four buildings and got the boards laid out pretty well aside from the perspectives that need to be finished tomorrow. Unfortunately, we scaled the template for our “snake” wrong so we are going to have to do that whole part at studio before the review (we have until 5:30), which is something I hate doing. We stayed up working until 4 before giving up and calling it a night. Blargh.
